Hospital de Orbigo, 3:45pm
Don´t worry...we´re not actually in the hospital. (I can see our parents freaking out right now!) That´s just the name of the town we´re in :) We´re safe. We´re happy. We´re healthy. Time for a recap:
We had a great time in Leon yesterday. We actually went to an internet cafe to upload a few more pics so take a look in the photos section when you get a chance. I only had time to do a few and the rest we will get to later.
Leon is a great city, quite big with many great little shops, bars, candy stores, a huge gorgeous gothic cathedral, and the list goes on. I don´t think we saw even a quarter of it. We stayed in the older part of town (where all the good stuff is), and yes, we did have vegetarian paella, and it was quite delicious. We almost ordered a second one and then decided to have crepes instead. On our way to dinner we walked by this fantastic little creperie and we knew we had to have one. Stephen had a savoury one with mushrooms, cheese and garlic and I had an old favourite, nutella and banana...so good. I have also discovered that I like beer now. In a very special way- cerveza con limon, which is basically half a beer with half a lemon soda, like a shandy- very refreshing.
After exploring the city yesterday, we had to be back at the albergue by 9:30pm, our earliest curfew yet so we didn´t get to see much of the night life. We got up pretty early again and had intentions of going only 23km to a town called Villar de Mazarife, but when we arrived there at 10:30am feeling great, we decided to challenge ourselves and walk an extra 13km to Hospital de Orbigo, for a total of 36km. We´re tired. Our feet are not happy with us, but nonetheless, we are glad to know we can go far when we want to.
We are probably going to chill most of the night and recoop our bodies for tomorrow...perhaps another light day? We shall see...
Love,
Andrea & Stephen

Lyn and Art
Yes, I have a few more grey and Art has a little less hair. Our hearts sank, the first thing we thought of was the food or water. I remember how sick I was when I was in Spain. Anyway, ha, ha, you got us!! Take care, we love you!
Lis
That was sneaky! My computer is so slow that it
took a long time for me to figure out that you
guys are okay!
Thanks for the pics - it seems as though you are
having the trip of a lifetime....you look so happy
and relaxed! Wish I was there!
Safe journey and no more scary surprises!

I read the title out loud and your Dad jumped out
of his chair panic stricken! We can relax now
after reading the rest of the blog...36km that
sounds incredible! It sounds like you are having
an amazing experience on this trip...Thank you for
uploading the photos - we love to see them along
with the regular updates!

My heart just broke a little but I'm glad you're
well :) in Spain they sell rosarys made of rise
petals at some of the churches, you should check
them out. I have one, they're beautiful.
Stay safe and healthy!
