Wow- I'm pretty wiped out. Just had a private vocal session with our coach...worked on "Time to Say Goodbye"- man- talk about a vocal workout! It's been a while since I've done anything that classical so it's an adjustment. Richard is a great coach though, and has a lot of useful feedback for me.
I decided today that I am going to go to the Umbria Jazz festival in Perugia for the weekend. Stephen is not. He would rather just have a quiet relaxing weekend at the beach, and I don't blame him. I was torn about what I wanted to do but I know I'm the kind of person who would wonder what I might be missing out on, so I will go and have fun with the girls and see what it's all about. Apparently there's a chocolate factory there too so if we get bored of music we can always go sample some of Italy's finest....mmmmm :)
We ended up going out with the group last night for dinner since it was one of the singers' last nights with us. I hate to say it, and maybe it's not fair for me to make an assessment based on only a few experiences, but the food in Italy is a bit overrated. After reading "Eat Pray Love" I guess I exected gourmet meals on every corner but I haven't really found that so far. My pasta dish was average at best last night, but I will say that the gelato is still incredible. I'm not even kidding when I tell you we have had it every day. And we got to try our first authentic tiramisu...very delish at the time but made me feel sick in the night.
Tonight is jam night. It's taking place at the studio where we train and some local musicians are supposed to show. We can bring wine and dress up if we want. I'll probably do a couple of songs depending on what happens with the musicians that show.
I won't be updating for a few days as we return on Monday sometime and resume classes on Tuesday. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
Love,
Andrea & Stephen
