Athens, 9:30am

Well, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing rest of our time in Corfu and just flew back yesterday into Athens for an overnight stay before leaving today.  Yes, we are off to Peru.  I'm not sure actually when we might be near a computer again.  So don't be surprised if this is the last blog for a while.  We are going into the jungle in Puerto Maldonado, at the site where Stephen's friend is building a retreat center.  We are meeting up with him and his wife tomorrow at the airport when we arrive.  The plan is to stay for a few weeks. 

I'm actually excited to go back to Peru.  I was there once before a couple of years ago to do the Inca trail as well as go into the jungle, but that was with a tour group.  I have a feeling I will get much more of an insider's view of the terrain and culture this time.  We will be meeting up with a shaman as well who is going to be running ceremonies at the center.  Stephen has met and worked with him before and has nothing but great things to say. 

Other than that, things are good.  We are actually looking forward to getting out of Europe now.  Although we had a great time, Europe is ridiculously overpriced and their entire culture seems to revolve around smoking, drinking and eating.  (We are relieved that we don't have to go to another buffet today!)  South America will be a new adventure in its own right, no doubt :)
