Pelekas Beach, Corfu, 10am

Good morning all,

Well we arrived in Corfu yesterday...decided to fly instead of the 8 hour bus ride and 2 hour ferry.  We decided on Corfu because we wanted to have a beautiful place to relax as we now only have 5 more days in Greece. 

Life can change very fast (as we all know) and opportunities can come up even faster.  Stephen has a friend from New York who got in touch with him to let him know he is heading down to Peru to open up a retreat center and has asked that we come and meet him there for a few weeks.  There just may be some work in it for us so we are going where the wind is blowing. 

So we arrived here last night and had originally booked ourselves into a hostel, right on the beach, that sounded way better on paper.  When we got there, it was pretty much a dive.  We had booked into a room with 2 other people but when we got there, there were 3 others, only one bunk open and a cot which- when I layed down on it- the metal springs dug right into my back and the thing practically  sank into the floor--not nice...

Stephen was not impressed so we went out for a little walk to see what else was around for accomodation and the building next door just happened to be a 5 star resort.  So we checked ourselves in for 6 all-inclusive days at this beautiful spot right on Pelekas Beach.  So we are going to live it up in luxury before we go to the jungle :) 

We just went down and enjoyed a bountiful breakfast at the buffet restaurant, took a quick stroll down to the beach- it's gorgeous- and are now getting ready to enjoy our day in the sun. 

So, that's the latest from our end.  I have uploaded a lot of Italy pics as well so feel free to take a look.   I have more to add still...they take a really long time to upload.
