Vada, 5pm

Well, this is our last message from Vada, where we have been living for the last month.  It's hard to believe the month has gone so fast and yet we are both relieved to be moving on from here.  There's only so long you enjoy doing group activities and going out for another dinner or going to another bar.  I have enjoyed the month but it's funny how things are never quite the way you imagine them to be :)

The last few days have been great.  We had a wonderful trip to a winery in Bolgheri that was our most enjoyable outing yet.  Delicious samples of fantastic Tuscan wine, as well as samplings of olive oil followed by an incredibly filling lunch of local meats, cheeses, grilled veg and some delicious taglietelli-- it's a noodle I have never seen before in Canada. 

Yesterday was our wrap up party at a discoteque/restaurant called Sopravento.  Again, delicious food and wine were in full flow as well as a sinful amount of dessert.  Another reason I am looking forward to leaving is so I can detox again!! 

Today has been devoted to laundry, packing, cleaning and a final rest at the beach.   Tonight, I think we are all meeting at the wine bar and probably going out for another dinner... (I know, I know, we just can't get enough of our vices!! ;)

So off to Rome tomorrow...we leave at noon and plan to stay for a few days, meet up with my parents, go to the Vatican, catch a few more sights and then probably the Amalfi coast and Pompei from there...freedom from here on out to stay as little or as long as we like in any given place....Ah, it will be nice :)
