Amazing Aussies!

Peru From Peru on September 2, 2009

6:30am, Willka Tika, Rumichaka

Good morning all,

Well, Stephen and I have had a wonderful relaxing week at Willka Tika, our little garden paradise.  We lucked out and met an amazing group of Australians who are here on a tour and basically adopted us into their family.  They took us on many of their excursions to Sacred sites, including Ollantaytambo, Moray and the salt mines.

Then yesterday we all went out for a beautiful lunch in Urubamba, (the next town from here).  I officially love quinoa!  After that we took a tour of a local potter's shop.  There were macaws and other exotic animals on site and the ceramics were incredible and so reasonable for what you get.  I think you would have loved it, Dad and Christine :)

Last night we took part in a ceremony and meditation out in the garden's fire pit.  One woman led us through some chanting and another guy played some songs on his guitar.  I also sang a couple of tunes a capella.  It was a nice venue under the moon and stars.

Today we leave for another amazing site: Machu Picchu.  I have been once before 2 years ago but this is Stephen's first time.  I think we're going to go once this afternoon and then get up at dawn to see the sun rise at the site.  The last time I was here it was raining.  They say the sun spills through at such an angle in the morning that it's supposed to be spectacular.  I'm crossing my fingers for sun this time!

So that's the latest from our end.  We're getting ready to catch our train so I better go.   Feel free to keep your messages coming...We always enjoy reading them :)

xo,

Andrea & Stephen
