Cangas, 10pm
We had a lovely day at the island today. Woke up, had some breaky, took a ferry over to Vigo and then got on another headed for Islas Cies. It is a beautiful island that is just one of a few along the northwest coast of Spain. They are quite small and we followed all the paths that cross the one we were on, basically from one end of the island to the other. So yes- we did more walking today :) But this time, it was at a leisurely pace and with only one light backpack. It is quite beautiful there but it is full of territorial seagulls. I thought Stephen was going to lose his head a couple of times because they swoop right in when you get too close to "their" turf. He took this one spot on a rock where one had been perched for a while and I swear, I thought it was over for him.
It started pouring pretty good at one point too and we forgot our raingear at the hotel so we got pretty soaked and joined what seemed like a thousand noisy people inside the cafeteria until it blew over. By mid-afternoon we were hiking again, up a big hill to the highest point on the whole island, the lighthouse. I got some pretty amazing pictures up there. Again, will upload as soon as I can :)
A couple of hours on the beach and it was time to come back. We were hoping to camp out there later in the week but we would have to buy and bring our own tent only to get rid of it shortly after. So we will go back one more day this week and soak up some more sun, but enjoy Cangas in the meantime. It really is a cute little town. I am looking forward to checking out some live music later in the week. Our hotel clerk, Fernando, told me all about this great local musician who comes in on the weekends. It´s funny; I have met about 4 Fernandos since I arrived in Spain and every time Stephen finds out, he makes me sing "Fernando" to them. No matter where I go, no matter what I do, ABBA is always with me... (LOL)
Time for bed...so ready for some zzzzz´s...
Buenos noches,

Sounds great and I am so envious. Nothing but thunderstorms raging here, so we have had our share of rain. Love you guys!
